From Inquiry Through Discovery
Since choosing the topic of post-partem depression regarding epidural use and obtaining peer-reviewed scholarly articles, my group has needed to revise our PICOT question. Our original question about whether or not epidural use increases or decreases post-partem depression rates in women, had no time frame in the question. My group decided to add a time frame of 1-year post-partem, what the rates would be. My group came across a few challenges while getting this far into our research assignment. Some challenges included downloading the research articles into the right file form, and finding time for all group members to be present. We solved both of these challenges by using effective communication skills and working together as a group at our dining room table, because we are roommates as well. I would say our group has had more successes than challenges thus far. Some successes include finding five strong articles for our research, and not having to throw any of them away. My group was very successful in reviewing our question and making it better with a time frame added to it. The progress in our research process is going very well and we are learning how to work together as a team. I think in the future, a planned-out schedule for meeting times would help get the group in order. The fact that as a group we were able to accomplish these tasks with few challenges and on time for due dates is very successful in my opinion. I think the research assignment and group is doing great so far and I look forward to continuing this assignment.
