Stamina as an important quality/skill that all nurses should have. Stamina is the ability to sustain prolonged physical and mental effort. The image above is a sunflower sprouting through the cracks of some rocks. I chose this image to represent stamina because it shows signs of faith, hope, effort, and determination. Growing through a pile of rocks shows that even through hard times and difficult situations, the flower still grew and kept growing. I believe that nurses need to have stamina because of all of the physical and mental tolls it takes to keep going in a nursing career. Going to work day after day for 12 hours a shift takes a lot of physical/mental well being, and willpower. Not only do nurses work for long hours, but they also have to work hard throughout their entire shift to keep up with patients, paperwork, reports, and coworkers. Throughout this semester, I have learned a lot about nursing, what it takes to become one, and how to stay in the nursing profession. I now have a deeper understanding of the roles of a nurse, and how to best be apart of a team of health professionals.
