Gratitude and Self Care
Gratitude is an important quality to have, especially in a professional setting. To have gratitude you are showing others that you are grateful for what you have and where you are now. Showing your appreciation for things/people can expresses the idea that you are happy with your life and deserve to have the job you have in a professional setting. Members of a interprofessional team can demonstrate gratitude by going out of their way to help their coworkers, giving thanks to those who help them, and keeping an optimistic/positive attitude even when things get hard. As a nurse, having gratitude and expressing this quality during work can help you make positive connections with your team, patients, and bosses.
Managing stress can be a challenging thing to come by. I have a few habits that I have gotten into whenever I get stressed out with family/friends, work, school, and life in general. One of the most common ways I deal with stress is by cleaning my room/work area. This helps me feel organized and prepared for the tasks I need to handle during the day. During a professional setting as a nurse, I could still use this technique to decompress by cleaning/sanitzing my work area/tools. If this technique is not applicable I can also manage my stress by taking deep breaths and suddly meditate by closing my eyes and focusing on my breathing. Both of these techniques will help me better cope with stress and fustration while on the job!
